so anyways I was reading The Last Dance on wattpad that Wan Ting had enthusiastically introduced me to reading it and while I was in the middle of chapter 8 (not really that far, huh) I suddenly thought of Princess Diaries. don't ask me why, I have no idea too. I guess once the word 'princess' comes into my head I would start thinking of those puffy dresses, tiaras and of course the many different spoons that one must use for different purposes. imagine if you went to a grand dinner or something and you were presented with 4 different kinds of spoons. which one's for dessert? which one's for soup? hmm. I guess I would just label them as the small spoon, spoon, big spoon, bigger spoon and just make a laughing stock out of myself. but anyway that led me to watch princess diaries again for the fourth time- and yeah I got to relive my memories (: still remember how caught up I was with princess diaries and I would spend my entire free time reading princess diaries and borrowing them from either the school library or from my friends. Kit Yuan and I used to go gaga over 'em. hahahaha how quick time passes eh.
what would happen if you were to one day -weirdly- become a princess? or royalty? or to have magic powers of some sort (like bloom from winx club)? or become recruited in a top secret spy agency(alex rider, totally spies)? will your character or personality change? will you still treat your friends the same, or will you feel superior to them? will you try to mix with the 'in' clique and forget about your friends that saw you before you were noticed? I guess I think about it once in a while. Like, what if. Lots of what if's become true, even though mostly those that I have stated up there won't. But still. Simple what if's may come true. Like what if I can finally do a split? What if I manage to get top in class? Those will definitely make you feel better as a person, but there can be negative what if's that break people as well. What if I fail and retain? What if I can never be a good dancer? What if's can make, or break you. It's up to you to decide, actually. Positive thoughts let you get more confident of yourself. Negative thoughts just make you doubt yourself and it hinders you from actually achieving anything.
life is a funny thing. some people say that your life is predestined. nothing that you ever do will change because in the end, your future was already decided anyway. but others say that it's your life and you are the one crafting and making it. you are the one making your own decisions and your own decisions will have impact to your future. which one of them do you believe? that your life is already predestined and no matter what you do, nothing can change? or that your life is in your hands and it's up to you to make it a meaningful one or just one that is useless? I agree partly with the first one. let's just use the same royalty example again. If you are born royal (so to speak), you can kind of never get away with 'not being born royal'. it's your blood. it's kind of your job to take over the kingdom and rule it. it's like, decided. BUT, you can choose to make your journey a memorable and exciting one. get what I mean?
I guess this shall be one of my profound blog posts.

Situated in the sunny island of Singapore, Jolene recently (is 2 years considered recent?) graduated from university and is now working in a job she never expected herself to hold. Besides having frequent quarter-life crises, she also indulges in video games, anime, and aesthetic korean girls documenting their life in vlogs.
Although not as eloquent with words, she still aims to try her best to bring across her thoughts to the Internet.
