chinese new year
Tuesday, 12 February 2013

aloha to my fellow readers! I have been notified that a lot of people have been reading my blog actually (heheheh) so yay I shall keep writing weird and incoherent blog posts for you guys. Awesome.

Chinese New Year is the time when we have quite a long break, and we meet up with relatives to get angpaos and eat goodies. But I don't really like CNY, for a reason. And I have no idea why. All these while, I never seemed to like CNY more than reading a book. It's like reading a book gives me more satisfaction and thrill or something- I'm boring. I just don't get why it's so... Fun. Maybe it's because of my cousins and all that. I don't know. But yeah just a different perspective I guess?

But this year's a little different. I actually went CHINESE NEW YEAR SHOPPING (my god I can't believe I did that) together with Ming Xuan and Stacia after 2BN's reunion lunch. Let's talk about reunion lunch first! I met up with LOVARTS after CNY celebration and headed down to NEX where our reunion lunch would be held at Shabu Sushi which cost a bomb -to me, anyway-. The food there was just mediocre I guess, since I don't exactly fancy steamboat and seafood and all that. Seafood doesn't appeal me, for some reason as well. Weird child, I know. *pats my heart pitifully* I guess the best part of the lunch was the phototaking part after it! Finally took pictures together with LOVARTS after like, a year or something. I didn't manage to go out with them last year because of my work schedule :( Sorry! And this year's the year too, so... :( But hey, after O's kay! :D Took lots of polaroids (6, to be exact) because all of us wanted to keep one hahaha. Really glad to have Ning back! She became more sporty hahaha. But in a good way, of course. After our tearful goodbyes (just kidding), I met Stacia to go all the way to Bugis for our shopping trip with Ming Xuan!

I was convinced that I wouldn't find something that I would like but oh boy, I was wrong. It took me a while to find something to buy, but after some aimless walking I laid my eyes on a bag. An envelope bag. I wanted one that could store my trusty laptop inside whenever I'm out for projects so when I saw one that seems to fit the bill, I went ahead to buy it. $19 after haggling with the shop owner ($1 discount LOL), but I guess it's worth it because the material's pretty good. Eventually MX and Stacia found this dress shop and shoe shop and we were stuck there for ages because there were so many customers in that shoe shop that the store owners were so busy and we had to wait quite a while to try on those shoes haha. But it was worth it because MX loveddddd her new heels. Lots of shopping ensued and I came back greeting my mom with a bag, dress, blouse, shorts, skirt, heels, and some bangles. Aww yeah HAHAHA my 3 years' worth of CNY shopping. Not bad for a first timer, I guess? And I'm so satisfied with my buys! HAHAHA.

I guess I have found the joy in CNY. The shopping.

(I am, in fact, a girly girl)
