I'm sure many commuters have found me odd. Whenever I board the bus, I always tend to gravitate towards the side where the sun is shining - instead of the other side without, where most commuters, if not all, do so. Then to prepare myself for the rest of my journey, I adjust the air conditioners overhead to blast at my face and either fish out my phone to continue reading, or a book.
Proceed with others staring rather unabashedly at me.
I bet they wonder, why is she choosing willingly to sit at the side with the sun shining so brightly? Isn't it hot and bright? Wouldn't she get sunburns? Sometimes, I myself wonder the same. Why do I choose to sit on that side?
Today as I'm on my way to my aunt's house, onboard 854, I finally understand why. The side with the sun - although occasionally making your phone turn black and forcing you to slide your brightness to the maximum end - is just cheerier. It makes you feel just a bit happier and - pardon my poor word choice - thankful, in a way. My book seems several times more interesting and inviting with the sunlight basking it in its glory. My hair feels much healthier bathing in the rays of the sun.
And I'm glad that I choose the side with the sun. Every time.

Situated in the sunny island of Singapore, Jolene recently (is 2 years considered recent?) graduated from university and is now working in a job she never expected herself to hold. Besides having frequent quarter-life crises, she also indulges in video games, anime, and aesthetic korean girls documenting their life in vlogs.
Although not as eloquent with words, she still aims to try her best to bring across her thoughts to the Internet.
