I'm on the train - but something doesn't feel right. Maybe it's because there aren't the bright-blue LED lights shining across the board, telling me which stop it is next and thanking me for choosing SMRT. Or maybe it's the silence that greets me whenever the door slides opens at a station.
I look around me, trying to find a form of reassurance somewhere. Tell me that I'm not disconnected. Tell me that I'm still sane. Tell me that everything is normal.
The train is so packed with crowds of friends and families and the occasional loner or two which - surprise! - includes me. Endless chatter fills the void of the automated speaker, giving me brief relief - but I know deep down that I am not the least comforted. Sounds of the train travelling along the railway fills my ears and the darkness of the tunnel meets my eyes when I look out of the window.
When is it going to end?
Suddenly, a whoosh brings me back to reality and I sigh in relief.

Situated in the sunny island of Singapore, Jolene recently (is 2 years considered recent?) graduated from university and is now working in a job she never expected herself to hold. Besides having frequent quarter-life crises, she also indulges in video games, anime, and aesthetic korean girls documenting their life in vlogs.
Although not as eloquent with words, she still aims to try her best to bring across her thoughts to the Internet.
