How many of you here are a romantic at heart? Including guys? Anyone believes or wishes to be kissed in the rain, or underwater (after reading countless sappy wattpad stories, and watching sappy rom coms)? If both you and your boyfriend/girlfriend are hopeless romantics, good for you! Then you can have someone who is equally enthusiastic as you. For me... Not really.

I am not a romantic person. At all.

You know how some couples feel so great when they sit on the wave breakers (those rocks along ECP?) or the shore during sunset or sunrise and the girl leans her head on the guy's shoulder? And the whole scene seems so surreal, perfect, and just... Blissful?

I don't believe in it.

Like, what's probably going in the girl's head might be: His shoulder is stiff.

And the guy might be thinking: Well... Her head is heavy.

At least, that's what I would think if that would actually happen. And... Why the sunrise or sunset? It's just the sun. It might signify a new beginning, or an end to a marvelous day, but is it worth it? After all, you might be all sticky and sweaty after a day on the beach under the sweltering heat (if you're watching the sunset). And you woke up at such an ungodly hour in the morning (if you're watching the sunrise).

Oh and Gwyneth mentioned about platonic relationships between guys and girls, and Terence's comment got me going: Oh my god, what? Hahaha and that was what made me think about blogging about this. I was discussing it with Wan Ting today while making our way to dance - don't ask why. just... don't. - about those overrated, under-the-rain kisses. And we were thinking about how did the guy (or the girl) initiate it. Do they randomly start singing Taylor Swift's Sparks Fly, and when they get to the chorus the guy just throws the umbrella dramatically to the ground and silences the girl with his kiss? Uhh, I don't think so. Then how the hell do they get under the rain and kiss? It's just plain weird. Or maybe they planned it all out. Like, "Hey, wanna go out now? It's raining, and I totally feel like kissing you now." "Okay! See you in five."

And the action of kissing under the rain. Usually the couple maintains eye contact, the guy looks longing at the girl's lips, the girl licks her lips subconsciously, and... Commence the make out. How are you going to kiss when you can't maintain eye contact before because the rain is just pouring down on you so heavily? Like when the girl looks up to the guy, she can't seem to see anything because the freaking raindrops are getting into her eyes. It doesn't work if your boyfriend is of perfect height- trust me, because I tried it with Wan Ting this afternoon and it didn't work. The rain will still get into her eyes. And if you don't maintain eye contact? You just... Don't kiss.

Underwater kissing is really weird too. You can't even OPEN your eyes underwater (I can't) so how are you going to kiss if you can't even see the person? You'll just miss and if there are lots of people, like if it's a party and all, you might just end up kissing the wrong person. You wouldn't want that, do you? And if the girl has insanely long hair, it will just float all around her making her look like Medusa.

._______.

BUT, not all hope is lost. I still want to do something romantic with my boyfriend in the future AHAHAHAHA. Just that one thing.

Upside-down kissing :> Like, the guy does a handstand and the girl just kisses him. That Spiderman scene really got to me  LOL. Obviously the guy can't go all spidey, so a handstand will do. WOOOOOO that'll be cool hahahahahaha.

So that's just my personal take on being romantic. What about yours?
