Guess what happened yesterday? It was the official step-down of all CCAs and we, the old Secondary Fours, had our last practice. Sure, at the beginning I was overjoyed at the thought of not attending Dance... Ever. But now that I think of it... I might really miss it, a lot.
I have talked quite a fair bit about Dance in the previous post, and I wouldn't want to bore you guys with the same nitty-gritty details. So I guess I will just touch about what happened yesterday. To be honest, I didn't expect every single level to present us with letters or tokens of appreciation. I thought at the very most, the Secondary 3s will give us like a joint letter or something but surprise, surprise! Every single level had personalised a card for each of us and even some snacks. *cue swooning*
My jaw was literally open when I saw the Secondary 2s treating us like princesses (seriously). They locked the small room and totally offered and eventually snatched our bags from us to put it in the small room when we declined LOL. When I wanted to take my box of tissues (haha) from my bag, Kayleen stopped me and asked me enthusiastically, "Which one's your bag?" topped with a wide grin.
I am so thankful for all of my juniors even though they may not know me! All of them wrote me a letter each wishing me all the best for my O's (: And Yu Ching wrote me the longest and most meaningful letter! AHHHHHHH I LOVE YOU TOO YUCHING! In the last paragraph she even wrote "I love you, Jolene" that made it sound like she was confessing HAHAHA. So adorable eeeeks. Such a pity she weren't there yesterday if not I would have hugged her to death.
I will miss all of my 30-30s. I will miss doing crunches to Britney Spear's 3 with the whole Dance Club. I will miss attending Mr. Dan's technique classes. I will miss doing those exercises to the soundtrack of The Sound of Music together with Xin Yi, Wan Ting, Clarisse, Lynn, Geraldine, Jacqueline and Yi Ting. I will miss fretting every Wednesday and Friday if classes ended late. I will miss rushing down to buy food before making our way to the studio. I will miss changing ever-so-quickly into our costumes. I will miss teasing Wan Ting and Lynn about them not washing their costumes and socks. I will miss catching my leg and going down on splits backstage with Lynn. I will miss putting on my makeup with my fellow dancers. I will miss slipping on the GA floor and crashing down. I will miss getting hit in the stomach by Michelle. Okay not really. But yes, I will miss Dance.
Dance may not necessarily be my life, but it sure as hell makes up part of my life. I can't resist dancing to a catchy song at home or even outside! And I still remember dancing to Hi-5 with Wan Ting last year HAHAHAHA. I may not seem enthusiastic and 'on' in Dance, but I am. Just not with contemporary or chinese dance. Hip hop, broadway and lyrical jazz, anyone? I can proudly proclaim that I have self-taught myself these following dances over the past few years:
The Hoedown Throwdown - Miley Cyrus
We Can't Back Down - Camp Rock
Payphone - Maroon 5
Show Me How You Burlesque - Christina Aguilera
All For One - HSM2
Work It Out - HSM2
ALL HI-5 SONGS - Hi-5 (something that I am really, really proud of)
And have attempted at choreographing these:
What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger - Kelly Clarkson
Kiss You - One Direction
Hahaha not that impressive, but whatever man. Peace out. The fire of dance will never be put out <3

Situated in the sunny island of Singapore, Jolene recently (is 2 years considered recent?) graduated from university and is now working in a job she never expected herself to hold. Besides having frequent quarter-life crises, she also indulges in video games, anime, and aesthetic korean girls documenting their life in vlogs.
Although not as eloquent with words, she still aims to try her best to bring across her thoughts to the Internet.
